Hudson Cook selected as a finalist for Top Law Firm category of the 2020 LendIt Fintech Industry Awards
Hudson Cook is honored to be selected as a finalist for the Top Law Firm category of the 2020 LendIt Fintech Industry Awards. According to the LendIt website, the 4th annual LendIt Fintech Industry Awards honor the world's leading Fintech influencers and innovators in 15 unique categories. The Top Law Firm award is presented to the law firm that has demonstrated deep expertise, commitment to clients and the fostering of a deeper understanding of fintech. The award winners will be announced during the LendIt Fintech USA virtual event on Monday, September 28.
Profiles of Hudson Cook partners Catherine M. Brennan, chair of the Fintech practice, and Katherine ("Kate") C. Fisher, co-chair of the Business Funding practice, were submitted as part of the application process. Catherine is ranked in the Chambers FinTech 2020 USA Guide for Corporate, Securities and Financing and is included in The Best Lawyers in America©2021 in Financial Services Regulation Law. She is a Fellow of American College of Consumer Financial Services Lawyers and currently serves as Vice Chair of the Consumer Financial Services Committee of the American Bar Association's Business Law Section. Kate is a founding member of the Alternative Finance Bar Association, an organization of attorneys who represent merchant cash advance companies and lenders providing financing to small businesses. She is the Vice Chair of the Maryland State Bar Association's Committee on Consumer Credit and Financial Institutions and has led efforts over the past two years to coordinate with multiple financial institutions to teach Money Smart for Older Adults in senior and community centers across Maryland. Kate is also included in The Best Lawyers in America©2021 in Financial Services Regulation Law.
