Hudson Cook Chairman Michael Benoit Receives AFSA Distinguished Service Award
Hudson Cook is pleased to announce that Michael Benoit, a partner in the Washington, DC office and Chairman of the firm, was honored today by the American Financial Services Association (AFSA) with their Distinguished Service Award.
AFSA created the award in 1941 to recognize individuals who make a difference by contributing to the growth and advancement of the financial services industry and the Association. Winners epitomize the service, dedication and professionalism that inspire the industry and serve customers every day.
"Michael was one of the first people I met when I joined AFSA 16 years ago," said AFSA President and Chief Executive Officer, Bill Himpler. "He has been a trusted friend and advisor to his clients, to the industry and to me."
"What makes me most proud is problem-solving," said Michael. "When a client comes with an issue, I can help them find the path to the result they are looking for. Even if it's not the result they are looking for, steer them to a result that works for them. That is when I feel most proud."
Michael has been involved with AFSA for more than 25 years. He currently serves on the Law Committee as Counsel to the Vehicle Finance Subcommittee and serves on the Business Partner Board and State Government Affairs Committee. He frequently speaks at AFSA conferences and other industry events.
Along with 16 of his Hudson Cook colleagues, Michael is honored to be a Fellow of the American College of Consumer Financial Services Lawyers, "a professional association of lawyers particularly skilled and experienced in handling consumer financial services matters and dedicated to the improvement and enhancement of the skill and practice of consumer financial services law and the ethics of the profession." He is also proud to be ranked in Chambers USA Nationwide in Financial Services Regulation: Consumer Finance (Compliance).
Michael started his professional life as a symphony musician, an experience that laid the foundation for his collaborative approach to client service and creative problem solving. His integrity and stellar reputation with regulators, other attorneys and client companies bring a high level of trust and good will to his practice.
The entire Hudson Cook team congratulates Michael on this great honor.
