Hudson Cook attorney Joseph Mayk named a Fellow of the American College of Consumer Financial Services Lawyers

Firm's 12th attorney to be named a Fellow; Jean Noonan appointed to ACCFSL's Board of Regents and Richard Hackett appointed chair of Annual Writing Competition

Hanover, Maryland, May 25, 2017 - Joseph "Jed" Mayk, a partner in the Pennsylvania office of Hudson Cook, LLP, has been elected a Fellow of the American College of Consumer Financial Services Lawyers (ACCFSL). Fellowship in the college is a high honor for lawyers who have distinguished themselves in consumer financial services law. Lawyers are elected to the college by their peers in recognition of their preeminence in the field and their contributions to scholarship about consumer financial services.

Mayk's practice focuses on state and federal consumer finance regulatory compliance for banks and non-bank consumer credit providers, with a particular emphasis on mortgage lending and servicing. He also advises clients on credit reporting, debt collection, unfair trade practice, privacy and data security, and electronic commerce laws and regulations.

Mayk is a co-author of the RESPA/TIL Integrated Disclosures chapter of The Law of Truth in Lending. He is the former chair of the Consumer Law Committee of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and a member of the Consumer Financial Services Committee of the American Bar Association's Business Law Section. He is also a member of the Legal and Regulatory Compliance Committee of the Mortgage Bankers Association.

Jean Noonan, a partner in Hudson Cook's Washington, D.C., office and a founding member of the ACCFSL, has been elected an officer on the organization's Board of Regents. Richard Hackett, a partner in the Portland, Maine, office of Hudson Cook, has been appointed chair of the ACCFL's 2018 Annual Writing Competition, which recognizes written contributions to the field of consumer financial services law.
