Presenter: Webb McArthur

Following California and Virginia, this year Colorado passed comprehensive privacy and data protection legislation, set to be effective July 1, 2023. The Colorado Privacy Act (CPA) is not a carbon copy of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VDCPA), so those doing business in Colorado or targeting Colorado residents will need to examine the scope and obligations of the CPA. In this Compliance Coffee Break, Webb McArthur discusses the scope and basic provisions of the CPA, with particular focus on how the law differs from the CCPA and VCDPA.
