In Loving Memory of Elizabeth Yen

With deep sorrow and profound sadness, we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Elizabeth C. Yen, an esteemed colleague and long-time Partner at Hudson Cook. Losing Elizabeth leaves a void in our hearts and is an immeasurable loss for our Firm and the legal community.

Elizabeth's career spanned over four decades, during which she played an integral role in shaping our organization's success and growth. Her unwavering dedication, peerless intelligence, and commitment to excellence made her an invaluable asset to our team. Elizabeth's keen legal insight and strategic vision were instrumental in navigating complex matters, and her remarkable leadership skills inspired confidence in those who had the privilege of working alongside her.

"Elizabeth was unequivocally one of the smartest people any of us knew. While her intellect could be intimidating, Elizabeth was also extremely personable, warm, and kind. Elizabeth was resourceful, always prepared, detail-oriented, and willing to help a colleague or a client any time we or the client needed it. It is impossible to overstate her value to the Firm and our community," said Managing Partner Chuck Dodge.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Elizabeth will always be remembered for her kind heart, compassion, and selflessness. She had a genuine concern for the well-being of others and consistently went above and beyond to support her colleagues and clients. Elizabeth's ability to connect with people personally was remarkable, and her warm and approachable nature made her an outstanding mentor and friend to many.

Elizabeth's colleagues remember her as a "lawyer's lawyer," who never suffered fools, but she possessed a genuine sweetness at her core. She could research and type a thoughtful email or memo on almost any topic faster than most of us can pour a cup of coffee. Any discussion with her was enlightening, regardless of the subject. She was brilliant, interesting to talk to, generous with her time, and always helpful. She was a valued colleague and friend. Her absence from that role and many others will be felt by all of us at Hudson Cook.

Elizabeth's impact extended far beyond the walls of our organization. She was actively involved in various community and industry initiatives and generously dedicated her time and resources to causes close to her heart. Her unwavering commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others serves as an inspiration to us all.

Today, as we mourn the loss of our dear friend and colleague, we also remember the fond memories and one-of-a-kind stories we shared with Elizabeth. Her legacy will continue to live on, guiding and inspiring us as we strive to uphold the values she held dear.

The Hudson Cook family is heartbroken for Elizabeth's husband, Seth, and their families. A memorial service for her extended family and their friends will be announced soon.
